    Bahama Mama G Fuel

G Fuel has been dominating the gamer energy market since 2012. Inspired by Roman Atwood, G Fuel’s ‘Bahama Mama’ flavor is a refreshing combination of orange and pina colada. When I first opened the tub and sniffed the tropical scented dust particles in the air, I knew I was in for something amazing.

The perfect blend of orange, pineapple, and coconut. But should you choose Bahama Mama for your next energy drink purchase? I will do my best to cover the bases and help you make an informed decision.

    What Is G Fuel?

G Fuel is an energy drink formula made by Gamma Labs. Targeted at gamers, G Fuel is designed to increase alertness, energy, and endurance without the crash or jitters. G Fuel is leading the industry with the most flavors, great ingredients, and affordable prices. With 1,790 mg of the energy complex which includes 150 mg of caffeine, it packs a punch.

Gamers around the world know of the struggle when you are trying to finish a long grind and you need that boost of energy to finish. Why settle for overpriced, unhealthy energy drinks when there is G Fuel? A Red Bull or Monster might look tempting but think of all the sugar and other bad ingredients. While G Fuel uses Sucralose (think Splenda) as a sweetener which isn’t the best, it is far better than cane sugar.

    My Thoughts On Bahama Mama

For the taste test, I used 1 scoop of Bahama Mama to 16 oz of cold water. If you don’t have cold water, use 12 oz of room temp water and the rest ice to bring it up to 16 oz. Shake up the mixture until your arms are tired (not really), the more you shake the less chalky it will be. Then I like to let it sit for two minutes so the particles can settle at the bottom, which also helps with the chalkiness.

    Taste - 9/10

The best way to describe the taste is orange pina colada. Right away I was hit with a strong orange flavor, followed by pineapple and finally a hint of coconut. It has a mild sweetness to it, no sourness or bitterness. Overall it is a very tasty and refreshing flavor. I’ve been drinking it for the past month, and haven’t got tired of the flavor.

    Effectiveness - 8/10

About halfway into the drink, about 15 minutes, I started to feel my drowsiness wear off. Once I finished the Bahama Mama, which was about 30 minutes, I was definitely more alert and was no longer drowsy at all. I personally use it not only for gaming but during the workday if I am having trouble focusing. G Fuel is a great healthier alternative than other energy products.

    Ingredients - 8/10

The ingredients in G Fuel are some of the best compared to most typical energy products. Citrulline Malate reduces fatigue and improves endurance. L-Tyrosine is a popular dietary supplement used to improve alertness, attention, and focus.

    Value - 8.5/10

The cost of G Fuel is $0.90 per serving. That is close to the lowest cost per servings out of all energy formulas. G Fuel also has some of the best flavors out there, so you won’t be disappointed.

    Overall - 8.5/10

    Overall, I rate G Fuel’s Bahama Mama flavor 8.5/10.

Is G Fuel Bad For You?

G Fuel’s original goal was to create a 100% clean, natural, and healthy alternative to traditional sugar-loaded energy drinks. Depending on the flavor you choose, G Fuel usually has 15 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar, and 3 g total carbs. It also has an assortment of vitamins, an energy complex, a focus complex, and an antioxidant complex.

    Caffeine

The caffeine content in Bahama Mama is 150 mg per 1 scoop of the formula. This is a good amount of caffeine, especially combined with the other included ingredients. You will get a nice boost of focus and energy for 4 to 6 hours.

G Fuel recommends starting out with 1 serving a day and see how you feel, then increasing from there based on how much energy you need. The max dosage per day is 3 servings.

    Sweetener

G Fuel is sweetened with sucralose, a chemical made from sugar. While sucralose is definitely an improvement over cane sugar, it isn’t ideal either. According to a study published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, sucralose negatively impacts the gut microbiome.

    Energy Complex

The energy complex is 1,790 mg and contains Taurine, L-Citrulline, Malate, Caffeine, Glucuronolactone, N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI.

The focus complex is 1,001 mg and contains L-Tyrosine, N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine, Adenosine-5 Triphosphate Disodium Salt (ATP).

The antioxidant complex is 26 mg and contains almost every fruit extract and fruit powder that exists. See the full list here.

    My Verdict For Bahama Mama

I was surprised by how much I liked the taste of Bahama Mama. I’ve had many other flavors in the past, and this is definitely my favorite so far. If you are put off by orange, pineapple, or coconut, then this is definitely not the flavor for you.

If you’re looking to try G Fuel for the first time, Bahama Mama is a safe bet. Take the plunge, you won’t regret it!
